Countryside Russian Bathhouse

Fire, Ice, and the Space Between
What is “Banya na Dache”?
It’s a family countryside bathhouse, created for slow, meaningful time with the people closest to you, in a quiet rural setting.
The experience is built around contrast:
hot, dense steam and a cold plunge — fire and ice working together.

Your session is guided by an experienced bathhouse host who controls the steam, the heat, and the rhythm, alternating warmth and cold so you can simply relax and follow the process.

The bathhouse is located just outside Sofia, about 20 minutes from the city center.
Easy to reach — and just as easy to step out of the city pace for a few hours.
Our Approach
A wood-fired stove. Soft, dense steam.
Oak venik.
Careful, attentive guidance.
Nothing excessive. Nothing rushed.
Simple Things
Steam. Hot water.
Cold water.
Oak venik.
Strong black tea from a samovar — with honey, fresh bread, and apples.
Everything in its place.
Close to Nature
A bathhouse in the mountains, overlooking the valley and moving clouds.
A quiet, secluded place where it’s easy to switch off and reconnect with nature —
just a short drive from Sofia.
Made with Care
We guide each session the way we love it ourselves.
Not as a “service”, but as a process — where attention, rhythm, and your condition matter.
We offer our guests only what truly works for us.

What to Expect
First of all, a holistic experience.
Fire and ice work together here: deep heat, sharp cold, and deliberate contrast. After the steam session, you step outside—into the open air, on a mountain slope, surrounded by forest. You stand, breathe, cool down.
This combination resets you on a deep level. The body relaxes, the head clears, and you feel genuinely refreshed—not pampered, but renewed.
Warm-Up & Tuning In
Light steam, natural aromas, gentle fan work, and a calm shared tuning-in.
The body warms gradually and prepares for the main steaming.
Main Part
Classic Russian steaming with oak venik, optional contrasts, and a cold plunge.
Circulation activates, the body “wakes up”.
Massage & Scrub (on request)
Muscle recovery and skin care.
Natural scrub, hands-on massage, and venik work.
Tension releases, deep relaxation settles in.
Final Warm-Up & Rest
A soft closing of the bathhouse ritual.
Final steam, tea by the samovar, and rest.
The body is warm, breathing is steady, the mind is calm.

  • Petro’s Sauna is easily the best in Bulgaria. I’ve been to many saunas in Finland and Estonia, and this one is just as good as the top ones there. The humidity and heat always feel perfect. I’m glad I found a place where I feel a real connection with nature and can relax. Since discovering it, I’ve been coming back again and again.
